Quick answer: Delhi NCR has five distinct growing seasons. February–March and October–November are the easiest. December–January is cold and foggy, so growth slows and trays need warmth and light. April–June is extreme heat — grow indoors or in an AC room. July–September is humid, so airflow matters most. In October–November, pollution means keeping trays indoors with windows closed.
I've grown microgreens through every Delhi season — the 45°C summers, the foggy winters and the pollution weeks. Delhi is not the easiest city for growing, but once you know what each season needs, you can harvest fresh trays all year.

| Dec – Jan | Cold nights, fog, short days | Peas, broccoli, kale, spinach, methi | Warmest room + grow light; expect a day or two extra |
Season-by-Season Tips
Summer (April–June)
Balconies and terraces get far too hot. Move trays to the coolest indoor room or an AC room — see our AC room guide. Cocopeat dries fast, so lift trays morning and evening and bottom water when they feel light.
Monsoon (July–September)
Humidity is the enemy. Keep a small fan running, sow at medium density and water only when needed. Learn to tell root hairs from mould in our fungus guide.
Pollution season (October–November)
The weather is lovely for growing, but the air isn't. Grow indoors with windows closed, use a grow light if rooms are dim, and keep air moving with a fan. Read our full guide: Microgreens for Delhi's Pollution Season.
Winter (December–January)
Cool-weather varieties thrive, but cold nights slow everything down. Keep trays on a kitchen shelf away from windows, add a full-spectrum LED on foggy days, and water less often. See best winter microgreens.
Spring (February–March)
Delhi's golden growing window — mild days and good light. A great time to try slower varieties like coriander and basil.
